Hi, I’m Bernd Norbert Würtz — composer and sound designer creating music and sound for film, and developing sonic experiences beyond the screen.
I’m fascinated by the relationship between sound and image, and by how what we hear can profoundly shape the way we perceive and interpret what we see.
My work spans film soundtracks, music production, sound installations, and spatial sound experiences. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with artists and musicians including Marc Teitler, Ayu Okakita, VOOV, Sayoko Paris (Dosage), and Alex Schweder.
In film, I’ve worked on shorts, documentaries, and international campaigns with directors including Dante Ariola, Yves Geleyn, Alexander Herzog, Peter Dörfler, and Luc Besson.
Alongside commissioned work, I develop experimental music and sound under the moniker hÄK (see website www.hak-klang.com). In 2019, I co-founded the duo hÄK / Danzeisen with drummer Philipp Danzeisen, combining drums, electronics, and modular synthesis.
When I’m not making music, I’m usually building synths, inventing sound gadgets, or bending circuits — creating my own tools to explore sounds that don’t exist in the usual palette.
